Arch Enemy is preparing to release their 12th studio album, Blood Dynasty, on March 28th via Century Media Records. For this week, you can check out the latest single, “Paper Tiger”, with a new music video here: https://youtu.be/FcVz1KXkzoA?feature=shared. Founding guitarist Michael Amott says, “”With Blood Dynasty almost here, we thought we’d sneak in another single for you. ’Paper Tiger’ is a personal favorite — these riffs are so much fun to play. The accompanying video was shot on a German airfield last summer with our visionary friend Mumpi. Turn it up and let it roar!” Arch Enemy is heading out on tour in the spring alongside Fit For An Autopsy, Baest, and Thrown Into Exile. Keep up with the band via: https://www.archenemy.net/en/.
Baroness recently brought two of their full-lengths, Red Album and Blue Record, to the stage with a live performance of each one in full for two sold-out shows in Philadelphia. Now, the band is taking that show on the road for the The Red & Blue Tour, kicking off this spring across the East Coast and Midwest. Frontman John Baizley says, “In December, for our annual Philly pre-holiday show, we performed our first two full length albums: Red and Blue. It was a great experience, unearthing the deeper cuts from those records that had faded from our setlist and it offered a rare opportunity to play some of those songs for the first time ever outside the studio. While I’ve personally never been overly interested in the pure nostalgia of past records, we’ve always found it illuminating to bridge the gap between present and past Baroness by learning and updating/rearranging our earliest material. After the overwhelming and positive response from the Philadelphia shows (and while we’re busy writing our next record) we’re looking forward to taking Red and Blue on the road and sharing the experience with old and new friends alike”. Disciples of Verity, featuring Corey Glover (Living Colour) on vocals, has just dropped a new single, with “Thread The Needle” out now via TLG|ZOID and distributed by Virgin Music Group. Guitarist Corey Pierce (God Forbid) says, “‘Thread the Needle’ is such a dynamic song as it’s based in the roots of pessimism versus hope in an abstract call to all of us moving into an unforseen future”. Obscura has officially released A Sonication, the second part of their trilogy concept, following A Valediction, and marking their seventh studio album and second release with Nuclear Blast Records. Check out the music video for “In Solitude” here: https://youtu.be/hGahQ3EtRxA?feature=shared. Steffen Kummerer says, “With A Sonication our seventh full length album sees the light of day, and we can’t be more proud of the record and how it turned out. The overall introverted, almost melancholic vibe and pace matches perfectly with the theme of the second album of our ongoing trilogy that started a few years back, releasing A Valediction in 2021. The fragile and human touch, featuring edges and dynamics back to back, turned into a unique album to be heard best with a good system or classy headphones. Obscura will embark on a relentless touring schedule covering the next years. Listen to the record, and see you at a venue near you”. Obscura is heading out on the road this spring with Atheist, Origin, Decrepit Birth, and Fractal Universe. Find all the info at: http://realmofobscura.com/live.
Deadlands, founded by Nita Strauss’ touring vocalist Kasey Karlsen, has just released their second single since signing with Spinefarm in 2024. The track is “Kundalini”, and features a collaboration with The Pretty Wild. You can check out the video here: https://youtu.be/jaskiDsbKkw?feature=shared. Kasey says of the track, “When we started writing ‘Kundalini,’ everything just felt so natural. CJ [Arey] and I walked into the studio and instantly clicked with The Pretty Wild girls (Jyl and Jules), and of course, Andrew the producer. From the very start, there was an incredible synergy, and we got right down to business. In just two days, we had created something truly special. The experience was infused with divine, feminine energy, and it was nothing short of inspiring. I’m beyond thankful to have worked alongside such brilliant and badass women. Jyl and Jules brought their unique artistry and creativity to the table, elevating the song to a whole new level. CJ and I were also blown away by Andrew’s immense talent — his contribution was extraordinary, and we’d love to collaborate with him again in the future”.
