Exodus is sharing a classic performance in the form of a new (or not so new) live album, British Disaster: The Battle of ’89 (Live At The Astoria), recorded during the band’s performance at The Astoria in London in March of 1989. Gary Holt comments on the new release, “Sometimes something truly awesome drops right in your lap. In the case of Exodus, it was full multitrack tape reels from our headlining show in London while on tour for Fabulous Disaster! So we thought, “Let’s listen and see what we have” and BAM! We were on FIRE! Pure over-the-top thrash, one hundred percent live, and as dangerous as ever! We are fucking stoked to be able to release this for our fans. Total mayhem!” You can check out a new visualizer video for “Fabulous Disaster (Live At The Astoria)” here: https://youtu.be/ZoJo_QkwG4s?feature=shared. The album will be released on May 31st via Nuclear Blast Records. Find more info via: https://exodusattack.com/site/.

Category 7 is a newly formed supergroup comprised of vocalist John Bush, guitarists Phil Demmel and Mike Orlando, bassist Jack Gibson, and drummer Jason Bittner, recently signed to Metal Blade Records. John Bush comments, “Mike Orlando’s and Phil Demmel’s awesome riffs made writing lyrics over the music a piece of cake. The rhythm tandem of Bittner and Gibson rounded out the sound and the connection felt like it was put together in the stars. Obviously, everyone being a veteran of the metal scene made it that much easier”. Category 7 has music on the horizon, with their first single set to be released on May 2nd, and a debut album in the summer. Keep an eye on: https://category7official.com/ for updates.

Within Temptation has revealed a new music video, for their recently released single, “A Fool’s Parade”, featuring guest vocalist Alex Yarmak, which you can see here: https://youtu.be/fBWeMivsraA?feature=shared. The band is heading out on their Bleed Out tour throughout Europe this fall. Keep up with the band via: https://www.within-temptation.com/.

Kerry King’s solo debut, From Hell I Rise, is almost here, with the release set for May 17th via Reigning Phoenix Music. For now, you can check out “Residue”, the first music video off the album: https://youtu.be/2fALV3X9jB4?feature=shared. The video was Co-directed by Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera, whose credits include Jerry Cantrell, Sebastian Bach, Exodus, and Killer Be Killed, and features Mark Osegueda on vocals, Phil Demmel on guitar, Kyle Sanders on bass, and Paul Bostaph on drums. Louvau says of the video concept: “A fiery, bitchin’, heavy f*ucking metal performance introducing the world to Kerry King’s new project and band members. A no bullsh*t, no prisoners showcase of the band members, performing while engulfed in flames and surrounded by burning pentagrams”. Kerry King adds, “I come from a big fire pedigree, and my music works with fire. I’ve always written horror-type music, so it made sense to incorporate fire into the first video, where you get to see the entire band, which I think is just awesome. I think fire goes hand-in-hand with the devil, and I’m no stranger to talking about the devil”. Find more at: https://kerryking.rpm.link/fromhellirise.

Seven Spires are heading to the release of A Fortress Called Home, their new album set for June 21st via Frontiers Music Srl. This week, you can check out the latest single, “Architect of Creation”, here: https://youtu.be/YKxump1Lco8?feature=shared. Frontwoman Adrienne Cowan says, “‘Architect of Creation’ is a bombastic romp through many of our favorite genres. On the spectrum from ‘mania to nothing’, this falls heavily on the mania side. But the true joy for me was in the arrangements — painting that world as the scenery of my soul! — and frolicking through them with Devin Townsend-inspired clean vocal stacks and Shagrath-y storytelling harsh vocals”. Guitarist Jack Kosto adds, “Those of you who have been with us since ‘Solveig’ will recognize the horned mask from the cover of that album in this video! Funny enough, during the multi-day shooting process, our rental car was broken into and the mask (along with the rest of all of our stuff) was stolen! We managed to recover it with only a few hours left on the last day of the shoot, and it’s crazy that this important visual piece of Spires history was almost lost to time over a freaking car. If you’re interested in the full story, it’s posted on our Patreon”. Follow Seven Spires at: https://www.sevenspiresband.com/.

Evergrey is preparing to release their fourteenth studio album, Theories of Emptiness, on June 7th via Napalm Records. This week, they’ve revealed the first single, “Falling From The Sun” with a music video here: https://youtu.be/fzDL9yVouxo?feature=shared. The band says of the track, “‘Falling From the Sun’ is an explosive song that represents everything we are about, not only for this album but also brings the energy that you would expect from a great new Evergrey song. It has the riff, it has the pounding drums, the bombast, and an unforgettable hook that we are very proud to have written. Now we just want you to be devoured by the splendor of the full album as soon as possible, but let’s start with ‘Falling From the Sun’; we believe it will last you a lifetime and easily hold you over until it is time for the next single and video. We spent what feels like a Hollywood budget on the pyrotechnics used in this video as we felt that represented everything we felt the most – having those fireworks rain down on us made us feel like real rockstars for a while and the song itself feels like a rockstar on its own! We can’t wait to see what you think and feel when you see this!” For more, visit: https://evergrey.net/.
