Doro has unleashed a new single, “Lean Mean Rock Machine”, accompanied by an animated music video by Balázs Gróf. Doro says, “I had the idea of making an animated video years ago, and when I recorded ‘Lean Mean Rock Machine’ I knew it was the perfect song for it. I’ve liked Balázs Gróf’s work for a long time. He is really incredibly talented. I was totally impressed by how he was able to empathize with the vibe of the song, the lyrics, and me as an artist in order to implement ‘Lean Mean Rock Machine’ absolutely perfectly: exciting, funny, and world-class craftsmanship. There are so many details in the video that you always discover something new. I’m super happy with the clip!” Check it out here: https://youtu.be/CvsYvIVuQTY?feature=shared. TÝR is just about to release Battle Ballads, their ninth full-length, on April 12th via Metal Blade Records. In anticipation of the release, you can check out “Dragons Never Die” here: https://youtu.be/mueo9kIlWS4?feature=shared. Frontman Heri Joensen says, “The song starts with a long harmonic crescendo on drums and guitar reminiscent of classical Deep Purple, then shifts an eastern inspired melodic journey back in time with wordless singalong parts, going into a rhythmically simple and stomping verse about a gold-grabbing dragon and a protagonist set on defeating it. It’s a fast and riveting chorus. The metal story progresses and culminates into a face melting solo. With the last chorus, the protagonist finds that becoming rich beyond measure just makes him the next dragon”. TÝR is currently out on the road in North America alongside Trollfest, Æther Realm, and The Dread Crew of Oddwood. For more, visit: https://tyr.fo/.
