Motörhead’s 40th Anniversary Edition of the classic album Ace of Spades has unsurprisingly been hitting some high chart numbers since its release, reaching #1 on the U.S. NACC chart, #4 in Sweden and the U.K., and #10 on the German charts – which just happens to be the same position it held the first time around, in 1980). The special box-set, in both 2 CD and 3 LP editions, is still available, though in limited quantities, with more planned for a late January 2021 release. Find more details at: https://imotorhead.com.
Anthrax are celebrating their 40th Anniversary in a unique way, with a graphic novel paying tribute to their 1987 album Among The Living. Published by Z2 comics, the Among The Living graphic novel will represent a track-by-track storyline of the entire album, written by Anthrax’s own Charlie Benante and Scott Ian alongside guest writers Brian Azzarello, Grant Morrison, Jimmy Palmiotti, Brian Posehn, Rick Remender, Corey Taylor, Joseph Trohman, Gerard and Mikey Way, and Rob Zombie, with more to be announced. Illustrators will include Roland Boschi, Maan House, Dave Johnson, Scott Koblish, Darrick Robertson, and Erik Rodriguez, and more, with covers by Benante, JG Jones, and Eric Powell. The Among The Living comic will be released in spring of 2021, but you can find all the details and pre-order options here: https://z2comics.com/products/anthrax-among-the-living-graphic-novel.

Symphonic Metallers Elvellon are the latest band officially signed to Napalm Records. The German four-piece has been around since 2010, self-recording and releasing their five-track EP back in 2015, which gained them the title of “heroes of tomorrow” courtesy of the German Metal Hammer magazine. Elvellon followed that EP up with a full-length, Until Dawn, in 2018, and now they’ll have plenty more in the works under their worldwide record deal with Napalm. The band says of the signing, “Since we began our musical journey, it was our dream to sign with a legendary label such as Napalm Records. Now this dream became reality and we can barely put into words what we are feeling at this very moment. We feel honored to find ourselves among so many awesome bands. It’s going to be a bright future”.
